For folks wanting to see a list of affordable courses check it out at puregolf.net. Some courses I agree that have great scenery but , still should not be rated as high as they are. Earlier this spring I played both Cabot courses and they were great. We're here at Saint George's Golf and Country Club in Toronto, The wonderful undulating par five fifteenth behind me as you might know Saint George's scheduled to be the host of the 2020 RBC Canadian Open and now the host of the 2020 - One men's National Championship is a course that always finishes very high on our top 100. Hard to maintain top conditions 8-12 weeks per year, even harder to advise about their conditions. How in the blue hell is Le Geant and Le Maitre ranked higher than Kanawaki? Nice to see the 3 courses at Osprey Valley make the list, especially the Hoot which deserves in my opinion to be ranked among Canada’s best public courses. I played there last fall just after the Canadian Open and it was in terrible condition, the service is terrible, and the front nine is awful (flat and boring). I played Deerhurst at the mid am last year and was completely dissappointed. Its a linksy/parkland style similar to The Hoot and Eagles Nest. This Tom McBroom / Tom Lehman design, host of the Gretzky and Telus Skins, is a much better golf challenge than many of the courses on the list that I have played. Rankings are always tough as they are so objective and how do you compare so many courses to each other when you can only do so much with grass, trees, water and sand and make it stand out from any other, but seems like more politics go into these than anything.
